Protesters ‘walk the talk’ at New Hampshire Rebellion

MANCHESTER, N.H. — The New Hampshire Rebellion, a movement that began in 2014 to protest corruption and big money in politics, gathered here this weekend in advance of Tuesday’s primary.

Events were held Saturday at Veterans Memorial Park, across the street from the Radisson Hotel downtown, where many news organizations are broadcasting from during their coverage of the nations’ first primary.

Actor Sam Waterston spoke outside the New Hampshire Rebellion tent about the group’s role in the 2016 election.

“This is the question on everybody’s mind. So the possibility of movement seems huge,” Waterston said.

Later in the day, attendees marched around downtown Manchester, citing the movement’s mission to “walk the talk.”

Lawrence Lessig, a Harvard Law School professor  who made a brief run this year for the Democratic presidential nomination,   spoke on the foundation of the movement and then led attendees in song: “We walk with love for our country, to honor our grannies and sons. We walk for an end to corruption, till the will of the people be done.”
