MILFORD, N.H — Former President Bill Clinton spent Sunday afternoon trying to persuade New Hampshire voters to choose his wife, Hillary Clinton, as the Democratic presidential nominee in Tuesday’s primary.

Long lines of people waited to be admitted to the Milford Middle School gymnasium, including Vivian Smith and her 12-year-old son Jacob. They managed to snag front-row seats

Both have been attending campaign events held by various candidates, but this was their first Clinton event.

Jacob has seen Republicans Donald Trump, Jeb Bush and Ted Cruz but says he doesn’t have any favorites so far.

Mrs. Smith said she’s still undecided about her vote Tuesday, as are a large portion of New Hampshire voters.

Just to their left, Paul Schmida was visiting from California. While he’s been to other prominent political landmarks including presidential libraries and Jimmy Carter’s Sunday school class, he said this was his first presidential primary.

But he said the only person he was really a fan of was President Obama, declining to talk about whom he might support in the November election.

Nigerian exchange student Adeola Adesiyun, who attends Souhegan High School, said this was the first time she’d seen the Clintons up close and personal.

She said she had heard about President Clinton while living in Nigeria and that she enjoyed the rally.
